Step 2: Set up your new texting app. Open the Hangouts app. At the top, tap Menu. Tap Settings SMS SMS enabled. Select the text messaging app you want as the default. If you’re using an older device, you might need to tap Default SMS app. If you don't see this option, set up your texting app in your phone's settings.

Whenever I initially created the account. My Sprint HTC EVO android phone never received it.

When you're putting in for the verification to be sent to you, do you get the option of putting in your mobile number to send it to? Or do you have access to your account far enough to check if the mobile number was typo'ed? Just not sure at was phase you are in at the moment and what you have access to. We can put you in touch with the Moderators at Community to have a look at the account but if it's something that can be quickly checked and fixed on your end, trying to look into doing that first. ^DJ

I am having the same issue, I keep trying to verify this by email and text and nevr receive either codes! This is frustraiting as I cannot log onto the account settings on my Xbox account to change my billing so getting charged every month!!!!

How can the answer be improved? Mac keyboard shortcuts By pressing certain key combinations, you can do things that normally need a mouse, trackpad, or other input device. To use a keyboard shortcut, press and hold one or more modifier keys and then press the last key of the shortcut. Shortcut for pasting text only mac.

My Mac Mini, running El Capitan, and my iPhone 6 Plus are both on the same WiFi network, however when I select the Mac Mini in the Text Message Forwarding settings, it does not send a code to my Mac Mini.
If Messages is not running on my Mac Mini, then selecting the Mac Mini in the Text Message Forwarding settings on my iPhone will start the program, but no code. I have signed out and back in to iCloud on both devices, and I have rebooted both devices. Nothing seems to work.
In fact, everything was working as it should until around the time I updated to El Capitan.
How can I troubleshoot SMS handoff from a cell phone to OS X?

Handoff works over bluetooth primarily, so you don't really need WiFi connectivity. Start by toggling the bluetooth on both devices and see if other handoff / airdrop operations work. That will rule out interference and other issues on the basic connectivity.
Sms Text Forwarding
You do need to be signed in to the exact same iCloud account on both devices, so checking the clocks of both and signing out and in can often verify iCloud account is operational on both sides.
Then choose 'Recover from iCloud Backup File'. Iphone text recovery software for mac. Enter your iCloud account.

Saw on reddit you have to make sure in preferences of messages that you are on the same Apple ID as on your phone, some times for what ever reason they can be different than the account on the computer.
All that was correct for me, simply logging out in message preferences and logging back in fixed the issue for me.
